CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a Family Caseworker to provide quality child and youth focused early intervention and targeted casework and as needed assist with supported play group with children and young people aged 0-18 years.

This is a Max-term Part-time position beginning in December 2021 ending in February 2023, working 22.8 hours per week (preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays), with the option of working from home one day a week.

Duties

  • Provide support to families with children on a range of issues that include Parenting, Domestic Violence, Mental Health and Alcohol and drug misuse in the family context and child safety.
  • Provide case management services to families through a strength based approach and client centred plans
  • Assist with meetings and supported playgroup for individual clients and their children.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area e.g.: Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of working with vulnerable families Demonstrated understanding of Trauma Informed practice and Strengths Based Casework Interventions.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development and Harm minimisation
  • A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check
  • Valid NSW driver’s licence
