At CatholicCare NT, we've empowered individuals, couples, families and children at 20 locations across the Territory and the APY Lands for the last 25 years. Our not-for-profit organisation has grown to over 250 team members delivering important programs and services such as counselling, housing, mental health and domestic violence support.

CatholicCare NT provides a range of Individual counselling, school-based counselling, and group work activities.

About the role

The Team Leader is responsible for the implementation, leadership and integration of the following program/s: School Based Counselling, Family and Relationship services, Employee Assistance Program Counselling (EAP), Supporting Children after Separation, Family and Relationship Services, Marriage Preparation and Crime Victims. This position has a particular focus on leading and mentoring program staff, applying professional knowledge and support whilst providing direct services and managing complex participant work.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology and minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing and case note writing and supervision, and the ability to communicate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  • Ability to record and interpret qualitative and quantitative data in line with program requirements and ability to lead the team to do the same.
  • Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
