  • Hourly rate: $43.08 - $48.35 depending on experience + Super + Salary packaging + penalty rates for weekend work
  • Based in Sydney CBD

Sydney Children’s Contact Service (CCS) is a federally-funded provider of centre-based supervised visits and changeovers for young children, facilitating contact with their separated parents and family violence. The service uses a child-focused, therapeutic, trauma informed, safety focused, integrated case management model of supervised contact, working with separated families who present with complex needs and high risk.

We’re looking for a Case Worker who is passionate about supporting families impacted by family separation. While experience in this area is preferred, our supportive and experienced team is eager to help develop a candidate who shows a strong ethical approach, aligns with our values, and has a genuine passion for making a positive impact.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering child-focused, site-based, supervised contact services between children and adult family members, including handling enquiries, conducting thorough intake safety and risk assessments regarding family violence and child protection, orientating new families, supervising contact visits, providing therapeutic case management, setting goals with clients, advocating for clients, and making referrals and liaising with other services
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including family dispute resolution practitioners and family law and post-separation counsellors, while closely coordinating with other team members and managers to foster and maintain a supportive and constructive work environment
  • Maintaining a focus on the safety and wellbeing of clients and their families, underpinned by a solid understanding of child development, child protection, and individual and systemic issues, including Domestic and Family Violence
  • Complying with all agency and program policies and procedures, including documentation and administrative tasks such as managing client files and correspondence, writing case notes, data collection, and responding to family court subpoenas.

What you will need

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences e.g. social work, psychology 
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills to work with adults and children impacted by relationship breakdown, family separation, family violence, mental health issues, and family law processes
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills to provide supervises contact and therapeutic case management of separated families impacted by high conflict and multiple complex issues including family violence, mental health issues and alcohol and drug addiction
  • Demonstrated capacity and skills to provide therapeutic interventions and case management within a trauma informed practice model, assessing and responding to the impact of issues including separation, domestic and family violence, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, grief and loss, and child protection
  • Working with Children Check
