About you

You have a genuine desire to help people take control of their problem gambling and get their financial situation back on track.

Your successful track record as a financial counsellor will allow you to confidently step into this important role.

You have the ability to motivate people and use that, coupled with the right evidence-based advice, to support people to make positive change for themselves and their family.

You happily work with people from all walks of life, cultures and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

About the role

Our GambleAware program supports people experiencing financial distress from unhealthy gambling and helps them to take control of their situation.

As a Financial Counsellor, you will work one-on-one with people both over the phone and in person, supporting them to gain the skills and knowledge they need to understand the problem and learn strategies for positive change.

You will take the time to understand your client’s situation and develop the best evidence-based plan to help them get back on the right track.

You will also be involved in GambleAware education and community engagement activities.

This is a Fixed Term, Part-Time opportunity until 30 June 2022 based in Western Sydney. The position may be extended pending funding arrangements.
