ROLE

This really is a unique opportunity, well suited to a passionate professional genuinely interested in working for a youth focused organisation. As Bequests Manager you will champion gifts in wills and legacy giving, combining a long-term strategic view with short term realities.

You will have the support of a highly motivated and skilled Brand & Philanthropy team, external agencies, and report directly to a General Manager with backing from the CEO and Board.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to step into a more senior fundraising position, develop and drive the strategy, take ownership and make a real impact!

The role is broad and will suit someone looking to build on their solid knowledge of bequest fundraising with strong relationship and collaboration skills, you will be strategic, have good judgement and ability to meet targets and manage budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish a fit-for-purpose bequests fundraising strategy, ensuring gifts in wills develops into a planned revenue stream
  • Drive targeted acquisition, retention on agreed ROI and priorities
  • Improve and maintain systems and processes to support increased legacy donor volume
  • Administer support systems in conjunction with Database Manager, Donor Relations Manager, Fundraising Officer, Finance etc
  • Develop activity reporting system
  • Effectively manage internal and external relationships with stakeholders, establishing appropriate stewardship of pipeline
  • Represent organisation at relevant meetings, events and forums
  • Embed legacy fundraising opportunities into fundraising strategy.
  • Working with the GM Brand and Philanthropy to drive continuous improvement in fundraising

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Practical experience developing and delivering a legacy- fundraising strategy
  • Wide experience and knowledge of the following:
    • Customer data segmentation tools
    • Direct marketing practices
    • CRM such as Raisers Edge NXT, Salesforce or equivalent
    • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to interpret and visualise complex data sets
    • Estate administration
  • Collaborative experience, able to work across teams to motivate and leverage performance
  • Significant business experience, working with or for regional or national for purpose organisations
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication with good presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven skills in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Accountability – accepts responsibility for the quality and timeliness of the work
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines on high profile and results-oriented tasks
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Passion for making a difference to at risk and disadvantaged youth
  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills
