ORGANISATION

Landcare is a grassroots movement dedicated to managing environmental issues in local communities across Australia from coast to country.

Landcare Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation established more than 30 years ago that supports the landcare community with funding, capacity-building, on-ground projects, information, networking and promotion of landcare achievements.

ROLE

We are looking for a true media professional and communications specialist with experience of developing and implementing strategic multi-channel communications strategies to raise awareness of the Landcare brands and their community.

The role is multifaceted and ideally suited to someone looking to build on their strong media, communications and project management experience and work in a professional and ethical for-purpose organisation that is making a real difference in sustainable land management and conservation.

You will be proactive with the ability to multi-task and have great communication, media and stakeholder management skills with a can-do attitude and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that is dynamic and agile.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage delivery of campaigns including development of strategy, project plan, communications plan, media plan, media relations and campaign reporting
  • Drive brand growth through solid consumer engaging media, PR and digital strategy and activations.
  • Proactive and responsive media relations management
  • Build and maintain relationships with media and key stakeholders
  • Generate ideas, create content for Landcare Australia’s Landcare in Focus magazine, Annual Report, newsletters, websites and social media
  • Keep informed of relevant trends and activities
  • Research, write and edit topical and relevant articles and case studies
  • Prepare briefs for promotional videos and photo shoots
  • Prepare media briefing packs for company media spokespeople including media training, key messages, media release, biography, background information documents and speech notes for events
  • Collate and analyse media monitoring reports for campaigns
  • Develop communications and PR activities for corporate, philanthropic and government partnerships
  • Drive brand growth through engaging media relations and communications activity
  • Manage the delivery of activities to a timeline, budget and campaign KPIs

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to deal with communications, media and stakeholder engagement concepts and high-level complexity comfortably
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns
  • Analytical and conceptual skills to effectively manage reputational risks and issues, solve problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Competency in a wide range of communications tools including developing media releases, media briefs, articles, presentations and social media content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to create and write clear, engaging and inspiring content
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes and seek ways to improve communications, media and stakeholder engagement services and advice
  • Understanding of the Australian media landscape

Highly Desirable

  • Sound knowledge and interest in environmental issues
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Existing media contacts in the environmental or agricultural sector
  • Experience in brand management.
  • Dynamic, solutions focussed and proactive with a genuine passion for the organisation.
