ROLE

Exciting newly created Fundraising and Development Manager position responsible for development and execution of direct marketing strategies with a focus on driving engagement and income across new channels. This includes direct mail, email marketing, and community fundraising.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Development, you will be utilising your strategic donor development experience to execute appeals, driving revenue and enabling the organisation to deliver against their goals.

As part of the role you will be responsible for all management and process aspects of the organisation’s database. It will provide you the opportunity to build on your Direct Marketing and Community Fundraising experience and take ownership and build a program!

This is a greenfields opportunity so you will be an experienced fundraiser with strong project and campaign management skills, a strategic thinker adept to working in a fast-paced environment where agility and strong stakeholder management skills are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop 2022 fundraising plan with a focus on direct marketing and community fundraising
  • Work with Strategy and Insights Manager to develop national database strategy with state affiliates
  • Grow LEA’s fundraising database – develop stewardship and cultivation frameworks
  • Manage new development campaigns (acquisition and impact reporting) ensuring all communications are donor centric
  • Identify and evaluate new fundraising opportunities through testing and creative thinking, using best practice fundraising knowledge
  • Launch and manage new peer-to-peer community fundraising initiative aimed at schools (late 2022)
  • Establish and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including the board, state affiliates, agencies, ambassadors, volunteers and partners to deliver organisational objectives
  • Produce reports using insights to drive future campaigns
  • Oversee execution of all fundraising programs ensuring they are on track against budget and evaluate ROI.

YOUR SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Relevant significant experience in a senior fundraising role (individual giving and community fundraising highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated project and stakeholder management experience
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage relationships with high level donors
  • Strong understanding of philanthropic/fundraising landscape
  • Ability to manage budgets with proven track record in delivering results
  • Strategic thinker with ability to work with tight budgets and short timelines
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • An understanding of the education sector will be highly regarded but not essential
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
