CAWLS is seeking a self-motivated, reliable and professional candidate, with demonstrated administration experience and a strong work ethic. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about joining our team, who work to improve access to justice for women in Central Australia and the Barkly.

CAWLS is a busy community legal practice with a vibrant and dedicated team committed to providing representation and excellent outcomes for our clients through law reform, legal advice and representation, community legal education and outreach. Many of our clients are women who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic and Family violence.

Under the direction of management team, the Administration Support Worker will be an integral part of our front of house team, engaged in day-to-day administrative support tasks, assisting with data collection, providing non-legal assistance to clients & working collaboratively with the CAWLS team as a whole.

Excellent ongoing training and on the job support will be provided to the successful applicant.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Administration Support Worker with the Central Australian Women’s Legal Service, you will be working in a small but busy and tight knit team. You will assist other administration staff and management as needed, in an ‘all-rounder’ position, where you will be responsible for:

  • Front of House/Reception duties (including answering the telephone, greeting clients attending the office, completing initial intake documentation & assisting Front of House staff to ensure the office is opened/closed securely each day).
  • Support the CAWLS team with general administration duties as directed, which may include a variety of tasks (eg. Filing, post/court documentation runs, purchasing kitchen/office supplies, general shopping for the office, COVID-19 cleaning, vehicle administration/maintenance etc).
  • Provide non-legal support to CAWLS clients as directed, ensuring client safety is prioritised at all times (including assisting with client transfers, to/from appointments).
  • Collect & enter required data for internal data collection systems, ensuring file notes and data entry is completed in a timely manner & provide data reports when requested.
  • Participate in projects and activities contributing to the promotion of CAWLS, such as stalls at community events.
  • Assist clients and lawyers to prepare for and during advice clinics, outreach visits and at other locations as directed.
