Your Exciting, New Role

Located in Mackay, this newly created position will be required to operate as an adaptive and strategic leader, with a scope that flows across leading and managing a service centre which has a critical presence in the community. Encompassed in your role is the delivery of high quality, collaborative initiatives that require key stakeholder engagement, local forum facilitation and implementation of systems and framework, along with the ongoing professional development of your team. Additionally, you will be overseeing financials and human resources within the region.

The Skills You Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Services, Social Work, or Social Science will be highly regarded
• Aptitude to negotiate responsibility for work outcomes, make effective use of individual and team capabilities, and reschedule and reorganise work to reflect changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills within teams and key stakeholder engagement.
• You understand and comply with relevant legislative, policy and practice frameworks, consistently model an honest, ethical and professional manner, and maintain effective performance levels, even in challenging circumstances.
• Able to approach negotiations with a clear understanding of the issues and desired outcomes and encourage the participation of relevant stakeholders.
• Able to explain complex information appropriately through written and oral communication, ensuring you tailor your communication style and language according to the audience’s level of knowledge, skill, and experience
• Recognition and articulation of the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the capacity to consult and negotiate according to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols.
• Experience working with children and families will be highly regarded
• Flexibility to travel regularly via both by road and air.
• Current Drivers Licence - Australian “O” (open) or “CA” or “C” class
