About the role

As the Desktop and System Administrator you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the desktop, server, cloud and communications infrastructure at Cancer Council Queensland (CCQ). You will provide excellent customer service and have excellent stakeholder engagement skills when working with our Employees and Volunteers either in-person or remotely.

You will:

  • Assisting with the design and then implement and maintain infrastructure, security, update, maintenance and monitoring systems for onsite and cloud infrastructure.
  • Being responsible for implementation and maintenance of a Role Based Security model.
  • Being responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of a SOE environment; including base image, rules, security and allowed applications across Microsoft products
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of integration with cloud platforms.
  • Assisting with the identification of design and implementation of process automation, reducing costs and increasing reliability and quality of service.
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of desktop, server, cloud and data communication infrastructure.
  • Being responsible for monitoring and maintaining of system availability, performance and security.

This role is permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) based in our Fortitude Valley office in Brisbane.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have proven experience in a similar role. You will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, you will be professional and customer service focused when interacting with staff and visitors.

You will have a good work ethic and be able to manage your time effectively, multi-task, have the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously. You must also work well under pressure as well as possess excellent trouble-shooting skills.

  • Experience in administering Microsoft Teams and Office 365.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory and Windows Server.
  • Experience with Hyper V technology
  • Experience working with Windows 10 desktop environments.
  • IP WAN, Wired and Wireless LAN and remote access technologies. Networking certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Mobile device management in Microsoft Intune
  • Experience administering firewalls and associated security infrastructure & systems.
  • Previous experience in ITIL would be considered highly desirable.
