As Senior Advisor, 13 11 20 you are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of Cancer Council Queensland’s 13 11 20 cancer information and support service, which provides evidence-based information, support and referral to service users, health professionals and the general public with information about cancer prevention, screening services and early detection. Information and support are provided via our 13 11 20 telephone and web-based services which includes email and webchat.
The 13 11 20 team also participate in recruitment for Cancer Council Queensland research projects and identify gaps in service to inform advocacy.
This is a great opportunity to use your knowledge of oncology, health system navigation and the Queensland cancer care sector, in a telephone-based role, speaking to Queenslanders seeking information, advice and support and further supporting the 13 11 20 team.
13 11 20 is operated by a team of experienced nurses and allied health professionals. We understand that every person’s journey is different and offer individualised support and advice to our clients.
13 11 20 operates between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. This is a part-time position (30 hours/week) and provides an opportunity for a skilled and compassionate health professional to support clients, their families and carers.
This role is a permanent, part-time position (30 hours per week).
To be successful, you must have a tertiary qualification in nursing or allied health and equivalent experience or post graduate qualifications in oncology, Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or membership of respective professional body.
You will have experience in providing psychosocial care to people with cancer, and health system navigation throughout Queensland.
