CHIRP provides a wide range of services and programs aimed at promoting health and preventing illness and is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and skilled people for the following role:

Non-Residential AOD Withdrawal Nurse

  • 2.5 days per week (0.5EFT)

The role of the Non-Residential AOD Withdrawal Nurse is to provide advice and psychoeducation for people wanting to stop or reduce their alcohol or drug intake and support people to safely achieve a home-based withdrawal when appropriate. The nurse works in collaboration with clients, family members, GPs and other medical staff.

The role involves conducting intake and comprehensive assessments of clients and working collaboratively with the AOD counsellors to manage service referrals.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Certificate IV Alcohol and Other Drugs, or willingness to undertake
