Centacare Specialist Family Support Services (SFSS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage.

The role:

A unique opportunity has become available for a Community Connection Support Worker to join our team based in the Kingaroy Region on a permanent Part Time basis.

Please note that some flexibility is needed in order to meet operational requirements. In this role, you will be providing essential support services to the communities of Kingaroy, Kingaroy Region (Nth & Sth), and Nanango, within the framework of CFRS's mission, values, and vision.

This program acts as a gateway to universal community support services and targeted support services, offering assistance to individuals and families facing various challenges in the community.

Key Duties:

  • Facilitate information and client referrals while fostering connections to our range of services.
  • Prepare and facilitate community group sessions.
  • Identify community/ social gaps in the local community and plan how best to meet the community needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of community events.
  • Support the organisation and be actively involvement in community events.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in community or social work.
  • Desirable knowledge and skills in contemporary support work principles.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, maintaining professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Proficiency in written work, report writing, data management and computer skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in a related field – advantage.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • Have a current Blue Card.
  • Have a current driver’s licence.
  • Provide a current Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check or successfully pass one.
  • Have working rights in Australia.
