Residential Care Workforce Development Lead

Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare

We are seeking an innovative and passionate community services professional who is looking for the next step in their career. If you would like to help shape the future of youth residential care by supporting and strengthening the capability of the workforce, this is the role for you!

About us:

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare (the Centre) is the peak body for child and family services in Victoria. For over 100 years we have advocated for the rights of children and young people to be heard, to be safe, to access education and to remain connected to family, community and culture. We represent over 150 community service organisations (CSOs), students and individuals throughout Victoria working across the continuum of child and family services, from prevention and early intervention to the provision of out-of-home care.

The Centre is a Registered Training Organisation providing accredited and non-accredited training. We work with child, youth and family services, and allied sectors, to strengthen the capability of the workforce to best support the needs and aspirations of children, young people and families.

The Centre is a diverse and inclusive workplace, committed to the health, wellbeing and cultural safety of our staff. We encourage applicants of any background, culture, gender, and experience to apply for roles as they become vacant.

About the role:

Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, the Residential Care Workforce Development Lead is responsible for implementing and maintaining the strategic direction of the Residential Care Learning & Development Strategy (RCLDS). An exciting part of the role is to monitor changes likely to affect the residential care workforce, including legislation and policy, and to make sure professional development is contemporary and aligns with sector needs.

Residential care workers play a key role in keeping young people who are living in a residential care home safe and supported and RCLDS aims to provide the best possible learning pathways for residential care workers, based on evidence of what works, for residential care workers throughout their careers. The role offers a lot of variety with responsibility for managing individual projects, and working with colleagues, government and community stakeholders to identify and coordinate the most relevant and engaging workforce capability building activities in different subject areas.
