  • $56,004 per annum + superannuation and leave loading

Position funding provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and Department of Housing and Public Works, managed by the Charleville Neighbourhood Centre.

The Charleville Neighbourhood Centre is seeking a permanent part-time Administration Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and organisational skills providing support to clients of our services and other program staff.

About the role:

Our Administration Officer will provide support and assist to maximise the quality of life, safety and independence of the target group. To assist in preventing premature or inappropriate long-term institutionalisation of clients who have been assessed as eligible by the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and the Home Assist Secure Program.

To provide administrative support to respective program’s Field Officers ensuring services offered are effectively delivered to the target client groups.

Clients would include frail or at risk aged persons, young or elderly persons moderately or severely disabled, or the designated carer for a CHSP eligible client.

The successful applicant must have:

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Experience in the areas of – client support and public liaison, working with other services to meet client needs.
  • Knowledge of program service agreements or ability to acquire rapidly.
  • Knowledge of local and regional community services.
  • Possession of a current “C” class driver’s licence.
  • Possession of a “Positive Notice” Blue Card, and consent to having a National Police Criminal check.
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate or attend first training available.

Skills, competencies and attributes required – Selection Criteria

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues and provide expert advice about complex matters in a pleasant and helpful manner consistent with organisational goals, policy and procedures.

  • Ability to plan and manage own workload to ensure efficient outcomes and a timely response to requests with competing demands including report writing skills.
  • Display personal character strengths of trust, respect, integrity and fairness.
  • Ability to show initiative and exercise professionalism by contributing to a harmonious working environment that enhances work satisfaction and service delivery.
  • High level of interpersonal, written, oral and electronic skills including use of the Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to adapt to other computer applications.
  • Experience in data entry and following policies and procedures in information management.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with demonstrated time management skills to establish priorities and workloads, to achieve objectives of the Charleville Neighbourhood Centre.
  • Exercise responsibility in applying workplace health and safety practices in the workplace, commitment to conducting sound record keeping practices as legislated, and a commitment to the principles of anti-discrimination and equal opportunity in the workplace.
