About the opportunity:

This is a chance to join a team that fights to make business practices and laws that affect consumers fairer.

CHOICE is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to make markets fair, safe and just. This means working on issues as diverse as fairness in the banking sector, unsafe products, how the insurance sector is responding to climate change and consumer rights when travel is cancelled.

You’ll collaborate and support the campaigns team at CHOICE across all aspects of our work: online campaigning, policy, government relations and campaign strategy.

  • Writing copy and helping to set up digital campaigns that inspire people to get involved.
  • Supporting the team to contact and influence decision makers like politicians and business leaders.
  • Helping with research and ideas in our policy work.
  • Jumping in to assist on a wide range of other tasks to make our campaigns effective.

CHOICE has a track record of hiring and supporting first-time campaigners who are now senior members of the CHOICE campaigns team. We want to give you the support to grow and learn at work and become a future leader in the consumer advocacy movement. While you’ll have a day-to-day manager focused on how best to support you, you’ll work alongside and learn from the whole team.

You care about making a difference and want to start a career in the not-for-profit sector as a campaigner for change.

This is an entry-level opportunity with a chance to learn on the job, so you don’t need prior campaigns experience or formal qualifications – just a willingness to give things a go and passion to make things better.

We’re currently working from home with plans to work a mix from home and office in future. CHOICE is located in the Inner West of Sydney (Marrickville) close to the Tempe and Marrickville train stations, multiple bus routes and with free parking on-site.
