Experienced Economist needed to conduct economic data analysis to solve policy problems and provide advice to consumers.

Super Consumers Australia is a three year old organisation that exists to keep the superannuation sector focused on the best interests of consumers. In particular, we work to advance and protect the interests of people on low and middle incomes in the Australian superannuation system.

    About you

First and foremost, you’re looking for a role where you can make a difference to people’s lives. You have a passion for fairness and a strong belief in what we do.

You have experience but how much isn’t as important as your attitude, aptitude and interest in taking on our large and complex mission.

    • Have a relevant degree where you have likely specialised in economics or econometrics.
    • Have previously analysed economic data to support policy ideas.
    • Can design and deliver insightful and credible research projects.
    • Can manage multiple projects in a team setting and deliver on time.
    • Well versed in statistical programming languages (R and/or Python).

If you have the confidence to work with a variety of senior stakeholders across government, industry and academia and prefer to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team, we would like to hear from you.

    About the role

Reporting to the Deputy Director and working alongside a small team of research, policy and communications professionals you will provide the modelling and insights that will influence our advocacy priorities to achieve a fair and efficient superannuation system for people on low and middle incomes.

    • Deliver modelling and insights on the efficacy of policy and regulatory proposals
    • Provide insight and analysis of superannuation and retirement product features
    • Communicate data in the form of presentations, technical reports and non-technical reports
    • Build and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders

    About us

We value diversity in our teams and work hard to ensure our people feel they belong here. We embrace flexible working aligned to individual needs, and support our teams to work collaboratively wherever they are located.

We use a range of techniques to assess suitability and we’re more than happy to meet your needs should you require adjustments regarding access or support. We encourage you to let us know during the recruitment process so we can work with you to play to your strengths.

We partner with CHOICE to deliver on our purpose. CHOICE supports Super Consumers with shared services including recruitment.
