What we can offer

  • Level 6 (SCHADS) salary range between $93,000.71 and $97,105.18
  • 37.5 hour full-time working week
  • Part-time working arrangements considered
  • Generous salary packaging – PBI employees may be eligible forFBT exemptions which can decrease taxable income and increase take home pay
  • Long service leave after 5 years – of 8 and 2/3 weeks after each completed period of 7 years’ continuous employment, accessible (pro rata) after 5 years’ continuous employment

About the role

As a Solicitor within our Workplace team you will be involved in the delivery and supervision of our employment and workplace discrimination law services including telephone advice, in-house appointments, case work, representation, community legal education, and law reform.

The Workplace team provides legal assistance services to vulnerable and disadvantaged non-unionised WA workers on all aspects of employment and workplace discrimination law, including dismissal, wage theft, bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment.

About you

You will be an energetic, confident, and passionate team member with the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Admitted, or eligible for admission, as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of WA and eligible to hold an unrestricted WA practising certificate.
  • At least two years’ post admission experience in employment and workplace discrimination law.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior legal staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey complex concepts to people from diverse social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Ability to conduct case work and litigation, including advocacy skills.
