City of Darwin currently have a full-time vacancy for a Program Support Assistant and we are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about creating unique experiences for the community by assisting in the delivery of a range of library programs and services

about the role

Reporting to our Programs Officer, this role works within the Programs & Lifelong Learning team to deliver a broad range of library programs and events for Darwin's diverse community. Our programs include technology help classes, seniors' programs, community information sessions, author talks and to name a few.

The role also involves delivering customer service that supports library patrons in a self-service environment.

This is a full-time permanent position, and as such the working hours are an average of 72.5 hours per fortnight in accordance with rostered hours. You will work across a range of our library locations and your working schedule will include weekend shifts.

This position is remunerated at a base salary of $63,210.00 per annum plus superannuation. We also offer six weeks annual leave, district allowance, salary sacrifice options, and the opportunity for continuous professional development and learning

key selection criteria

To be considered for the role you will have excellent customer service skills, sound interpersonal and communication skills and of course will need to be passionate about providing programs and services to the broader community.

You will have the ability to work in a varied and busy library environment and have demonstrated experience delivering programs, using current technologies and a willingness to embrace and explore emerging technologies relevant to libraries is essential.

You must also have:

  • A Class C driver's licence.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE)
