Clean State is looking for Organisers to join our organising team to set up and develop a distributed network of Clean State supporters and volunteers across the state to drive progressive change.
Clean State is an independent initiative advocating for action on climate change and jobs in Western Australia. We represent thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses and other organisations who are dedicated to climate action across the state. We promote solutions that create thousands of jobs supporting businesses, families and communities and make our state a fairer, safer place to live and work.
The Community Organisers work within the organising team to build grassroots power by leading the implementation of organising strategy that will increase the number of people involved, leaders trained, and engagement of people with influence to achieve Clean State’s advocacy goals.
If these criteria speak to you, you could be the perfect person for the job. Formal education, qualifications and extensive experience matter less to us than a positive attitude, initiative and willingness to learn.
We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people, a diverse range of genders, people with disability and others who have diverse experiences to apply for this opportunity.
This opportunity is ideal for entry-level organisers. Students, candidates with little organising experience, and those new to the community are encouraged to apply. Passion for climate action, a positive attitude and good work ethic are the most important attributes for the role. If you want to help fight for a safer climate, please apply regardless of whether you feel you possess all the skills outlined in this ad.
Interviews and offers will occur on a rolling basis as suitable candidates apply, so an immediate start is possible for anyone looking to jump in straight away.
