About Climate Friendly:

Our growing team is passionate about active land management, and we are focused on finding economically viable solutions to maximise our impact on climate change. We have a proven track record, having reached over 20Mt in carbon abatement by the end of 2020. We are scaling up to reduce emissions by 100Mt by 2025, helping to build a sustainable land sector as a part of a net zero carbon economy by 2050.

As one of Australia’s largest and most experienced carbon farming project service providers, Climate Friendly helps landowners and land managers to unlock economic, social and environmental value through improved management of Australia’s land. This includes more than 130 carbon projects partnering with farmers, plantation managers, agribusiness, and Traditional Custodian covering more than 10 million hectares of land.

About the role:

The role will provide cross-company support to continue to develop and maintain a people-centric work culture as our organisation grows. At Climate Friendly we are strongly committed to ensuring our people come first, and attracting, retaining and developing our staff underpins our impact culture. The position will work closely with our internal communications, legal & governance and finance teams and line managers to support People and Culture needs effectively and proactively across the company.

Key responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development of a collaborative high performing organisational culture by building employee and organisational capability.
  • Provide expert advice to senior managers on operational people matters, risks, issues and trends to keep managers informed and supported including in relation to change management, engagement, and workforce planning.
  • Review and update our company values and organisational behaviour framework at regular intervals to ensure it remains fit for purpose.
  • Manage our staff training & development program including supporting managers to complete employee development needs analysis.
  • Management of our staff performance processes including
    • Reviewing and updating existing processes
    • Coordinating a consistent company-wide process to set and assess individual goals and performance metrics
    • Supporting line managers through the performance review and development cycle
  • Provide centralised coordination of human resources requirements across the business, including recruitment and induction processes.
  • Revising, updating and maintaining human resources policies and procedures.

Selection Criteria: Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Human Resource practices, issues and trends, and proven ability to build a positive work culture
  • Five years' experience working in an organisation going through rapid growth and with a highly dispersed team
  • Experienced in providing strategic and operational expertise across a broad range of human resource functions to management and staff
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, developing best-practice HR systems and driving organisational change projects to a successful completion
  • Experienced in overseeing end to end recruitment, induction and on-boarding, and learning and development process
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and to manage competing demands within required timeframes
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
