About the Role

CMY is currently seeking 2x casual Project Support Officer Positions to work in a highly rewarding, dynamic environment making a real difference in the lives of young people.

The Project Support Officer – Youth-Led Unit will primarily be responsible for the delivery of programs and services including the provision of support to the Project Lead and other staff within the Youth-led Unit. The role will work on the key programs delivered by the team to paying clients through a fee-for-service model including, but not limited to, services focused on Diversity and Inclusion.

The Project Support Officer will assist CMY’s engagement of young people and lead delivery and development of services delivered under the youth-led unit to organisations and business clients of CMY. These services will improve youth leadership, participation, representation and overall youth engagement in key areas of society. The Project Support Officer may have the opportunity to support other areas of the Youth Leadership team and more broadly CMY when opportunities arise.

  • Casual position (approximately 22.8 hours per fortnight)
  • SCHADS level 3, Pay Point 1 (including 25% loading) $42.55 per hour
  • Location: CMY Carlton Office
  • Interviews: to be held from Wednesday 7th September 2022
  • In line with CMY’s COVIDSafe policy and practices, there is a requirement the successful applicant must provide evidence of receiving two doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine or exemption (if applicable), prior to commencement

You will have: (KSC)

  • Well-developed interpersonal and excellent communication skills and able to demonstrate experience in facilitating, leading and/or developing trainings with stakeholders from businesses and/or community organisations;
  • Well-developed leadership skills with demonstrated experience in advocacy, including engaging and collaborating with young people from various backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service satisfaction, business development in corporate or social sector settings that stimulates project growth;
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills, with a capacity to be flexible and show initiative in a work setting;
  • Young person aged 18-30yrs from a refugee or migrant background (including young people born in Australia with parents/caregivers with a refugee/migrant experience)
