Coast Shelter is a leading Central Coast not for profit charity assisting families, adults and young people with complex issues arising from their experience of homelessness, abuse and neglect. Our organisation is driven by our mission to deliver innovative solutions to address homelessness, violence and poverty to achieve immediate and lasting changes.

We are a Tier 3 community housing body and the largest Specialist Homelessness Service in Regional NSW. We operate 9 crisis shelters, a Community Centre and more than 50 outreach properties, housing over 150 people across the Central Coast every night.

The Role

LOVE BiTES is a well-established Respectful Relationships Education Program created by the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN) for young people aged 11-17 years that has been facilitated in schools across Australia since 2004.

We are currently looking for a passionate facilitator to manage the administration of Coast Shelters LOVE Bites Central Coast program. The position will coordinate the scheduling and booking of schools and facilitators for the delivery of NAPCAN’s full suite of Love Bites and Love Bites Junior programming which are delivered to Central Coast schools.

The LOVE Bites program is delivered by skilled facilitators who are experienced working with young people and are comfortable in working in the area of sexual assault and relationship violence.

Some of the key tasks include

  • Booking and scheduling schools and facilitators
  • Facilitation of the LOVE BiTES program
  • Answering general inquiries including on social media platforms
  • Updating and maintaining program kits and material, including digital based programming
  • Documenting and analysing student and teacher evaluation
  • Maintaining the LOVE BiTES app and website

All about You

You hold a relevant tertiary qualification and are driven to make a difference in the lives of young people through early intervention programs. The successful applicant will require attention to detail, planning, organisational and time management skills.

To be considered for the position you must be able to address the essential criteria below;

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in Community Sector Services
  • Presentation, organisation and facilitation skills
  • Strong administration skills and ability to prepare any reporting or presentation requirements
  • An understanding of community impact from sexual assault and domestic violence
  • Experience working with young people in a group setting
  • Knowledge of local referral support options for young people and their families
