Coast Shelter is a leading Central Coast not for profit charity assisting families, adults and young people with complex issues arising from their experience of homelessness, abuse and neglect. We are a Tier 3 community housing body and the largest Specialist Homelessness Service in Regional NSW. We operate 9 crisis shelters, a Community Centre and more than 50 outreach properties, housing over 150 people across the Central Coast every night.
At Coast Shelter, you'll be joining a team of committed staff and volunteers who work to end Homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence within our community. We are looking for an experienced Women & Children’s Services Manager who will be responsible for the operation and management of 3 shelters and a Domestic & Family Violence Rapid Response Program.
Our Women & Children’s Services is a specialist homelessness service for women, with or without accompanying children, providing safe accommodation and access to personal support programs for those who are experiencing homelessness on the NSW Central Coast.
Through this service, Coast Shelter delivers a response to strengthen after-hours domestic violence support, including increased crisis and temporary accommodation and we provide tailored local service options, such as safety planning, case management, and assessment.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager the position manages a team of 4 Senior Case Workers, who oversee the day to day running of the shelters and the Domestic & Family Violence Rapid Response Program.
The position represents Coast Shelter in raising awareness, providing education and giving a voice to the issues of Homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence on the Central Coast.
You are passionate about delivering strength-based case management, trauma-informed care and client-centric approaches to lead effective outcomes and focused practice. To be successful in the position, you will have extensive experience supporting Women and Children with complex needs as a result of domestic violence, abuse or neglect and address the following essential criteria;
If you are successful in gaining employment with Coast Shelter you must hold a NSW driver's licence, First Aid Certificate, National Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check and a Covid Digital Certificate.
