Who are we?

COA is a not-for-profit volunteer-based organisation for Jewish seniors with a 40 year history. Our mission is to support and enable Jewish and non Jewish seniors to be able to continue living independently in their homes, maintaining a high quality of life with dignity.

What do we do?

COA provides a range of services for Seniors by providing social interaction, community involvement and access to services for those in need of care in their homes, along with a variety of activities specially designed to enhance their health, well-being and quality of life.

Our wonderful volunteers are the backbone of our organisation, one of our key volunteer programs centered around the weekly / daily delivery of Kosher Meals on Wheels, fresh fruit and vegetables to our members, along with having volunteers on hand for seniors outings, on-site activities, and outreach programs.

Who are you?

To meet our mission COA is currently seeking a special someone who enjoys interacting with a vibrant and interesting community to coordinate and organise our team of amazing volunteers. Located at Bondi Junction, this role is diverse but essential to COA being able to fulfil it’s mission.

How will you help?

You will be dealing with volunteers face to face, assisting in organising events. As the Volunteer Coordinator you will ensure our volunteers feel appreciated and welcome, you will be responsible for inducting new volunteers, ensuring their police checks are satisfactory and they are aware of their responsibilities as a volunteer. You will grow and maintain a database of volunteers and their availability as well as ensuring volunteers are booked in for the various tasks that COA rely on them to perform. You will be establishing new relationships and partnerships with other organisations.

What do you need?

The successful applicant will have strong engagement and communications skills, be organised with strong attention to detail. You will be a problem solver who enjoys seeing their people perform well. You will also have empathy and respect for the needs of the elderly, understanding that COA and the tasks they perform is an essential part of their lives.

Whilst past experience with Volunteer Coordination is desirable anyone who has experience dealing with a team and knowing how to get the best from people should apply. We are open to people with a wide range of experience. Past Co-ordinators have come from Banking, Aged care, Social work, fashion.
