About the role

This position sits within the Homeless Services Cluster which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people who use alcohol and other drugs and/or are experiencing homelessness.

The Dual Diagnosis Clinician provides direct service delivery to clients with complex dual diagnosis such as brief interventions, case management and care coordination practices. This role is also tasked with building relevant staff knowledge, capacity and access to dual diagnosis services to ensure the best outcomes for all clients.

Your duties include:

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based primary care services to clients, and groups of clients, with a dual diagnosis
  • Provide capacity building support, consultations and service access information for staff members at Make Room and other cohealth programs as appropriate
  • Establish and maintain links with other key local agencies, local community and provide secondary consultations as required

Our ideal candidate:

  • Current tertiary qualifications in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing and AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of three years' experience working with people with complex mental health and/or AOD issues
  • Demonstrated experience in working with clients who have a history of homelessness and multiple and complex needs, as well as a sound understanding of the key issues affecting people experiencing homelessness
