How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne

The Creative Spaces website aims to provide a platform and marketplace for people across Australia to both advertise and find workspaces or venues, focusing on the creative sector including sole traders, small and medium organisations, not-for-profit groups and businesses. The Creative Space website is sectorally endorsed and enjoys high national recognition, positive profile and utility. As a leading marketplace website serving the creative, cultural and arts sectors, it is arguably one of Creative Space’s most valuable assets.

The Creative Spaces Website Lead will drive the strategic development of the Creative Spaces website, building on its success and turning it into a robust marketplace to broker creative space opportunities and match it to sector needs. Taking ownership of the website, the role will drive the website improvement project, seeing the project through from ideation to implementation, and managing its success.

What you will bring

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • A highly motivated, values-led, self-starter with the ability to operate independently to high standards.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in web development projects with strategic communications focus for commercial marketplace, real estate, creative sector and/or government organisations.
  • Expertise in web transformation projects and technical knowledge of website development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic tools and frameworks to guide decision making for corporate websites.
  • Sound understanding of organisational reputation risks and mitigation, especially within a government context.
  • Sound understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript and enterprise technology stacks.
  • Excellent understanding of industry best practices regarding digital communication channels, UX, information architecture principles, content management systems and web accessibility and how digital media forms an essential channel as part of the integrated communications and marketing mix.
  • Excellent business acumen and experience in explaining the value of strategic outcomes and approaches and identifying opportunities for Creative Spaces website growth.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including active listening, negotiation and influencing, marketing and sales, facilitation of meetings and workshops with stakeholders and clients.
