Community Housing Industry Association NSW

Community Housing Industry Association NSW (CHIA NSW) is the industry peak body for registered community housing providers in NSW. Our purpose is to support the development of a not-for-profit rental housing industry which makes a difference to the lives of lower income and disadvantaged households in NSW.

CHIA NSW provides accredited training and assessment and professional development services through the Learning and Development Team and the Registered Training Organisation (No. 90400), Centre for Training in Social Housing.

Position Overview

The trainer will deliver training in accredited courses from the CHC42215 Certificate IV in Social Housing and the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services; with an opportunity to deliver professional development sessions. They will take a consultative and educative approach in providing support and guidance to ensure students are able to complete their studies and their work placement.

Selection Criteria

We are seeking a proficient, enthusiastic, and highly motivated team member to work with students and employers to train, assess and support students in the workplace.

The following criteria will inform our selection decision:

Essential Requirements

• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110 including units TAELLN411 and TAEASS502)
• Experience and currency in the community services industry and able to teach in the community services training packages
• High level interpersonal skills and cooperative work practices and ability to operate effectively as part of a positive and cohesive team
• Ability to prioritise and work efficiently and accurately
• Satisfactory Working with Children Check
• Computer literacy

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of social housing and the roles in tenancy and/or property and maintenance management
• Experience in a similar role
• Experience in property and maintenance management
