The position of Accounts Officer exists to assist the Finance team with a range of administrative duties, including the processing of payments, entering data into accounting software, and reconciling expenses and balance sheet accounts.

The role is required to work with the Accounts team and ensure all financial transactions are completed in a timely and accurate way, as well as other supporting duties. The position reports to the Accounts Team Leader.

This is a six-month contract position, to be worked Monday-Thursday at our Newcastle office location. School hours would be acceptable.

Key Accountabilities

• Effectively execute financial processes;
• Contribute as part of the Finance team to complete duties with attention to detail;
• Take ownership of processes;
• Manage physical finance mail and banking duties.
  

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Well-developed skills with Microsoft Office suite;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to understand complex processes and technical systems;
• Foundational knowledge of financial and accounting concepts;
• Experience in working with cheques and cash.

Desirable

• Qualification in Bookkeeping or working towards a Bookkeeping qualification.
