Conflict Resolution Service is seeking an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner ("FDRP") to join our organisation. As an accredited FDRP, you can expect to work with families experiencing separation, assisting them through alternative dispute resolution processes in respect of parenting and property matters.

The role involves being able to deliver services of various models of mediation including lawyer assisted mediations, mediations via shuttle and online depending on the individual needs of a family. The ideal candidate will hold experience in providing service delivery in child focused and child inclusive practices where appropriate.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge, skill and experience in the FDR space including mediation with families who have complex needs and those from diverse backgrounds. The role requires extensive experience in the principles and practices of intake and assessment, case management and referral pathways including appropriate screening and risk assessments.

Prerequisites

  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
  • Be a solution focused practitioner.
  • Sound understanding of the Family Law Act 1975 including the provisions in relation to section 60I.
  • Sound understanding of family violence legislation within ACT and NSW.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with families within the family law space, high levels of acrimony, family trauma and distress, and other family law issues.
  • Strong written and verbal skills including the drafting of outcome statements, case notes, data collection and data entry.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and integrity in working with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in consultative and collaborative strategies with other practitioners.

Desirable

  • Recognised qualification in mediation in accordance with the National Mediator Accreditation System.
  • Family Violence Training.
