Connection Spot is a family run business with a mission to use innovation & technology to make supervised time simple, accessible and tailored to each family’s needs.

Connection Spot currently requires a number of Family Contact Supervisors across the Sydney metropolitan area.

Family supervision typically occurs on weekends therefore we require Supervisors that are at least available on either Saturday or Sunday (ideally both).

About the Role

Connection Spot personnel will on-board families before a visitation is arranged. Once a visitation is confirmed details will be sent to the Contact Supervisor. The role of the Contact Supervisor is to then:

  • Attend and supervise scheduled visits with families and their children.
  • Provide support and supervision to the child[ren] and family throughout the visit.
  • Monitor the child[ren]s safety & well-being and be prepared to manage potential tension and conflict.
  • Identify ways to enhance interactions between the child[ren] and family. Including making recommendations to some aspects of the visit to enhance outcomes for child[ren] and family.
  • Write a comprehensive observational report documenting what occurred during the visit.

As a Contact Supervisor you will primarily be working with families involved in the family law area however you will also deal with vulnerable children and young people in out-of-home care and communities.

To be suitable for this role you will exhibit empathy and compassion and have a strong commitment to children, families and community. You will possess a high level of resilience, and seek to be part of a team of skilled and like minded professionals.

Criteria

  • Have completed or currently studying relevant tertiary qualifications for working with children and families including (but not limited to): Social work, Psychology, Welfare, Youth Work.
  • Prior experience working with children and young people is preferred.
  • An understanding of mandatory reporting requirements and the laws governing NSW Child Protection Services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a capacity for empathy, compassion and understanding.
  • Current drivers licence and access to motor vehicle that is comprehensively insured.
  • Own mobile phone, computer and access to the internet.
  • Excellent observational and writing skills.
  • First aid certificate or ability and willingness to get one.
  • All applicants will be required to have or obtain a Working with Children Check from the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian prior to any employment opportunity.
  • Complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate

All applicants will be required to have or obtain a Working With Children Check, a National Criminal History Check, and First Aid Certificate, as well as a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

Remuneration

Competitive hourly rate depending on experience + superannuation + mileage.
