Essential skills and competencies:

  • Right to Work in Australia
  • Cert IV in Mental Health
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Certificate & a valid CPR
  • NDIS COVID 19 Certificate
  • Full driver's licence, car registration, and a comprehensive car insurance
  • Minimum 1 Year Experience as a Mental Health Worker
  • NDIS Orientation Certificate (or willing to obtain)

What is involved in the Role?

As a mental health support worker, you will aim to provide various supports requested by the clients, these types of supports include:

  • Accompanying the participant to an appointment.
  • To support individuals who are NDIS participants to access the community.
  • To provide people with new and enjoyable experiences, to support better valued community experiences and connections.
  • Assisting a participant with daily tasks prior to and in preparation for taking them out for the day i.e. 10 /15 minutes to work with an individual/s to get ready before going out
  • Accompanying participants on an outing such as going to a football match or festival or walk to the local park
  • Assisting participants to take part activities such as music, reading, exercise programs, etc.
  • Assisting clients to develop and/or expand their social relationships and networks in the local community
  • Develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with the participants and their families.
  • Providing quality, practical, and emotional support to our participants to enable them to meet their personal life goals and objectives, as outlined within their NDIS plan.
  • Promote the dignity, privacy and confidentiality of clients and respect their right to make informed choices and decisions.

  • The position is flexible, casual and part-time are available.

What we offer

In addition to competitive pay rates the successful applicant will also have access to:

  • Entry rate of $28.68 to $32 per hour. Higher pay points may be applicable based on qualifications and or experience. (Penalty Rates Apply)
  • A variety of shifts available across 7 days. Shifts times and length of shifts will vary from client to client, throughout the morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend.
  • Access to our staff portal where you can view your roster, sign on/off, complete shift notes, add your availabilities and access client information.
  • Regular supervision support.
  • Opportunities for further training & skill development
  • Flexible work-life balance / Flexible working hours with set schedules to ensure consistency of hours regardless of a casual or part-time contract.
