About the Role:

Are you a striving Junior Lawyer seeking a career move to secure a role within a supportive, collaborative and highly skilled Legal services team where under the supervision of General Counsel you will have conduct of legal and other matters providing accurate, high quality and timely verbal and written advice on a range of legal matters?

Your days will see you work in the areas of research and interpretation of legislation, provision of oral and written legal advice to internal stakeholders, collation and management of documents for subpoenas and discovery in litigation matters, involvement in litigation matters, review and draft of contacts, memorandums of understanding, policies, business rules and procedures as well as provision of witness support to staff and volunteers, preparation of Board, Committee and Executive Papers, participation in and contribution to minimising legal risks through mitigation strategies and actions as defined by CFA.

About You:

The person we are looking for will hold a bachelor degree in law, be admitted to the legal profession as an Australian Lawyer and hold a current Victorian Practicing Certificate (which can be under supervision). In addition, you will have demonstrated ability to work effectively with tight timeframes and manage multiple matters simultaneously. 

Naturally you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an enthusiasm to learn in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Furthermore, you will have high level interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with various internal and external stakeholders, including CFA staff at all levels, volunteers and external legal services providers.

You will be keen to make a positive contribution and have the ability to showcase your skill in being able to provide accurate and clear verbal and written advice on a range of legal matters along with carrying out legal research and analysis.
