The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. We respond to fires and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our volunteers are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

About the Role:

Do you consider yourself an expert in your chosen field of all things program evaluation and continuous improvement and are you keen to join an organisation where the work you do has a direct impact on the Victorian community?

CFA has an exciting opportunity for a detail-focussed, proactive and contemporary Program Evaluation Specialist to join our Planning and Governance Team. This critical role will see you develop, manage and execute a diverse range of program evaluations of prevention and preparedness programs delivered by CFA.

Reporting to the Manager Planning and Service Delivery, your daily work will see you support and raise the quality of CFA's Community Preparedness programs and activities by ensuring programs are evaluated through the implementation of the monitoring, evaluation and reporting system. Further to this you will provide technical and methodological support to improve our monitoring systems, ensure the quality of our evaluations and provide advice regarding evaluation findings and recommendations.

About You:

The person we are looking for will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (evaluation, social science, community safety, project management) along with demonstrated ability and experience in monitoring and evaluating community-based programs.

Naturally you will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills inclusive of group and meeting facilitation and the ability to negotiate. Further to this you will have proven capability to engage stakeholders at varying levels while maintaining effective working relationships.

Crucial to your success in this role will be your knowledge and understanding of contemporary evaluation practices and its application to continuous improvement and organisational learning.

This may be the next step in your career if you have the ability to apply your evaluation experience broadly and would like to join a fast paced, rapidly changing emergency service organisation supporting Victorian communities.

Your Application:

The key to progressing in the selection process is the quality of your application. Your application must demonstrate that you have the qualifications, experience, key attributes and skills required for the position.

Your application should include:

  • Cover letter responding to the key selection criteria
  • Resume

Submitting your Application:

When you click the 'apply' button you will be taken to the online application form. Here you will be asked to provide personal and contact details and respond to employment-related questions and to upload your Cover letter and Resume.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a National Police History Check and a Working with Children Check.

In accordance with the Public Health Directions, CFA must comply with employer obligations regarding mandatory COVID 19 vaccinations for authorised workers (emergency services). If you are to be successful in gaining employment with CFA, you will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination against COVID 19.

CFA is committed to be an inclusive, fair and child safe organisation for all staff, volunteers and the community.
