About the role

The Influence team is responsible for building and running grassroots campaigns, social movements, policy reform initiatives and government lobbying on key issues affecting the access, inclusion and rights of individuals living with cerebral palsy. This is an exciting time to join our team as CP Alliance kicks off a refreshed approach to advocacy and community mobilisation, with the help of talented advocacy agencies and consultants to help us ideate and implement a range of new campaign initiatives both within Australia and around the globe.

Working closely with the GM of Influence, the advocacy campaigns officer will run a variety of campaigns throughout the year on important social and political issues, including the major global campaign held on 6 Oct, ‘World CP Day’, now active in over 100 countries. This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven individual with progressive ideals to work within an ambitious, innovative and globally-minded organisation that wants to see meaningful action and progress for our community.

Requirements:

  • You have at least three 3 years’ experience in a similar or related campaigning role;
  • You’ve got a diverse range of skills, in community organising or mobilising, campaign strategy and implementation, communications, and media
  • You’re an innovative and autonomous worker who can think outside the box;
  • You’re a team player who works well with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Keen understanding of storytelling, framing and audiences;
  • You have an intellectual ability to understand dynamic scientific, social and political issues;
  • You are proficient in Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Marketing Automation tools;
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging content across websites and social media channels;
  • You have experience of both SEO and SEM;
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Communication / Arts / Social Sciences / International Studies

Desired for the role:

  • You’ve got direct prior digital campaigning experience in the fields of disability, health or human rights
  • Someone who is an outstanding copywriter and has a sophisticated understanding of audience analysis and segmentation, target messaging, and understands how to harness a variety of communication tactics, social and digital media.
  • The right person for the role will provide creativity and innovation within campaigns, ensuring content is dynamic, ambitious and highly engaging.

Licenses/certifications required:

  • NSW Driver's License (minimum P2)
  • Current WWCC (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement in the role).
