The Collieries' Staff and Officials Association is a Division of Professionals Australia (formerly APESMA) and represents Staff employed in the coal mining industry. We aim to make a positive difference to our members’ working lives. We work in a targeted, planned way to deliver results for our members.

The Association is looking for an Organiser to join our Team.

This is a great opportunity to deepen your organising skills with industrial bargaining and campaigning experience by working with our members and workplace leaders to build the strength of the union and deliver good collective outcomes to members.

An attractive salary package plus 9.5% superannuation, a fully maintained vehicle and a RDO each month (package negotiable depending on experience & relevance of existing skills). Travel will be required throughout the Coalfields, including Queensland.

The successful applicant would be responsible for implementing organising plans, developing workplace reps, building sustainable organising structures, and recruiting new members.

  1. A commitment to Trade Union principles.
  2. Demonstrated union organising experience; ability to identify and build campaigns.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to influence others.
  4. A general understanding of current federal industrial legislation.
  5. Current Drivers Licence, and capacity to travel.
