THE ROLE

  • Part-time, flexible hours for the right candidate
  • Merriwa location
  • Contract to 30 June 2022 with view to extension based on funding

As a member of the Counselling team, this position is responsible for the provision of effective, high quality, culturally sensitive, individual counselling and group programs for adults, children and adolescents who have experienced trauma through FDV.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, counselling, social work or related discipline and specialist expertise in relevant practice to the role.
  • Eligibility for professional association membership.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills and Experience in appropriate areas including the following:

  • Professional counsellor working with women, children, and adolescents.
  • Issues relating to adults children and families who have experienced trauma as a result of FDV.
  • Working in a therapeutic environment including a variety of therapeutic delivery models relevant to individuals, groups and families.
  • Group facilitation.
  • Development of group programs.
  • Build and sustain professional working relationships.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, continual improvement, risk management and occupational safety and health.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to complete succinct yet comprehensive case notes and records.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to liaise and negotiate with a variety of people internal and external to the organisation; and the capacity to promote PGC in the community.
  • Understanding of the values that underpin the organisation and its culture with capacity to lead and promote these.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Registrations and Licences

  • National Police Clearance – no older than 3 months
  • Current WA Driver's license
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Copies of all relevant qualifications
