The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence (PGCNV) is committed to achieving its mission of communities free from violence. We do this by working across the continuum of service provision in the northern corridor of the Perth metropolitan area.

24/7 service, potential for shifts across all days and times including Sleep Shifts

Working to support our clients on a day-to-day basis, along with supporting our Case Management team, to ensure empowered outcomes for our clients and their families. You will work across our various sites as rostered. Duties include initial intake & assessment, preparing refuge for service, liaison, and collaboration with case management internally as well as externally with other agencies and services, risk assessment, crisis management and safety planning.

  • Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (preference for Cert IV minimum)
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience with crisis & trauma.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting families to achieve positive outcomes in an FDV context
  • Crisis accommodation/homelessness experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary family issues including family and domestic violence; the physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioural impact of trauma and abuse; homelessness; child protection; poverty; mental health; the use and misuse of alcohol and other drugs and knowledge of support services available to address these issues
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to PGCNV's vision, mission, and values
  • Ability to engage with individuals with different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship, that is cognisant of an empowerment approach
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and contribute to the functioning of the team
  • Ability to model positive behaviours, professional maturity, coping skills and resilience
  • Demonstrated, well-developed, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working on cross-cultural issues and skills to work with people from all backgrounds in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client management systems. Knowledge of SHIP desirable.
  • Women from CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.


  • National Police Clearance – no older than 3 months
  • Current WA Driver’s license
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Proof of right to work in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate, Visa)
  • Current First Aid certificate including CPR
  • Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination
