About the Role

Our Family Services Team works in partnership with families to develop their parenting skills, increase awareness of the health, developmental, and safety needs of their children and improve community connection and family functioning.
As a Family Worker, you will be responsible for improving the wellbeing of children by supporting families with In-home casework services and through the provision of parenting groups.

  • Provide case work and case management to families with complex issues including the development of family case plans
  • Organise and coordinate multiple agencies and services for families and develop safety and risk plans
  • Provide support and assistance to families by drawing on theoretical concepts and intervention skills
  • Respond in a timely and flexible manner to referrals for family work

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community and welfare studies e.g. Bachelor of Social Work
  • Case management expertise and experience working with vulnerable families and children with complex needs
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005 and the Best Interest Framework
  • Specialised skills in the areas of parent education, child management and parenting strategies
  • Group work experience, designing and facilitating parenting groups, with an ability to transfer relevant skills to families
