About the Role

As the Senior Officer, you will lead Council’s ambitious Solar Saver Program, supporting a small team of three to develop and deliver this initiative, with a focus on procurement and design in the first year of this multi-year program.

You will help create a program that will significantly drive down emissions, and support Darebin’s low-income community, making a direct impact by helping households install renewable energy and energy efficiency retrofits and supporting those communities through a well-constructed engagement strategy.

You will build partnerships with stakeholders to maximise program outcomes and support sustainability and environment initiatives in line with Council’s goals and strategies.

  • Engage, empower and motivate staff, developing capability and potential
  • Design and manage an ambitious renewable and energy efficiency program
  • Manage a large procurement process including development of procurement plans and contracts
  • Develop sound risk management practices to support the program

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science, renewable energy, energy management, and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience managing large-scale renewable energy or comparable programs
  • Experience in providing contract management services
  • Excellent engagement skills including ability to communicate, negotiate, influence and engage with a wide range of key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of the energy sector, particurlary renewable energy and energy efficiency
