Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services (Djerriwarrh) is a highly regarded not-for-profit charitable organisation which has been delivering high quality education, training, employment and youth programs in the western suburbs of Melbourne since 1989. Djerriwarrh’s Mission Statement is to ‘support individuals and the local community to learn, connect and grow’. Djerriwarrh has an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.

Learning for Employment, established in 2002, is a group of 6 Learn Locals working in partnership to deliver the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program.

Program:

Djerriwarrh delivers the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) funded by the Department of Home Affairs and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program funded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment. Djerriwarrh also delivers the Foundation Skills For Your Future Program.

AMEP, SEE and the Foundation Skills For Your Future assist participants to develop language, literacy and numeracy skills with the expectation that such improvements will enable them to participate more effectively in the Australian community, further education and training, and/or employment.

Role:

The Senior Manager AMEP & SEE is responsible for the oversight and management of Learning for Employment (LfE) and Djerriwarrh’s delivery of AMEP, SEE and Foundation Skills For Your Future.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in education with LLN expertise.
  • A commitment to Equal Opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and stakeholder focused.
