The Dandenong & District Aborigines Co-operative Ltd (DDACL) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) which is governed by a community elected Board of Directors. It is committed to the provision of a high-quality range of services which will foster and support positive and fulfilling lifestyles for individuals and families within our community. These services are delivered in a professional and efficient manner and in keeping with our culture, traditions and heritage.
We are currently looking for a Health Promotion Worker (Tobacco Action Worker) to work with regional and local Aboriginal Community Organisations, relevant local mainstream health organisations (including Peninsula Health and Monash Health) and clinics, to provide culturally appropriate, locally designed tobacco campaign activities, community events and quit smoking services.
The successful candidate will liaise with local and Regional Sporting Organisations, and Educational Institutions, with an identified Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander population, to develop an integrated program of tobacco control activities. This is an exciting hands on role where you will work directly with a team to plan and run engaging events for the community.
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
Certificate IV in Population Health (or higher)
You would also possess a current Driver Licence, Working with Children check and be willing to undertake a Police background check and provide proof of full vaccination status.
