Deadly Connections is an Aboriginal Community Controlled and Not-For-Profit Organisation that breaks the cycles of disadvantage and trauma to directly address the over-representation of Aboriginal people in the child protection and justice system/s.
Deadly Connections positively disrupts intergenerational disadvantage, grief, loss, trauma by providing community centred, holistic, culturally responsive interventions and services to First Nations people and communities, particularly those who have been impacted by the child protection and/or justice systems. We aim to develop stronger, safer, communities and more positive futures, for our communities, families, individuals, and kids.
The Deadly Families project is a culturally responsive, early intervention and prevention program (for Aboriginal Mum’s and/or Dad’s), designed to target risk factors associated with child protection notifications and interventions.
Deadly Families aims to develop the capacity of parents, improve their parenting and life skills, promote positive outcomes for participants and their families and encourage healthy, connected, strong, safe relationships with their children through individualised, holistic, cultural, and social support to actively assist both men and women who are:
The successful candidate will be working under our project lead to provide intensive and individualised case management to First Nations families involved or at risk of involvement with the child protection system.
