DEBRA Australia is a not-for-profit volunteer-based organisation that does not receive any direct Government funding and works tirelessly to support those living with a group of rare skin blistering disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). DEBRA Australia assists in improving the lives of children and adults living with EB, a debilitating and sometimes fatal condition, by providing necessary support services, medical supplies, aids and equipment, assistance with transition to independent living and research focusing on different aspects of EB.

About the Role

The Communications & Fundraising Coordinator role supports the remit of the Marketing & Fundraising team, whose key objective is to raise the profile of DEBRA Australia and Epidermolysis Bullosa, whilst raising critical funds to support those living with this disease. This role is broad in nature and requires an individual with strong digital skills and experience supporting delivery of events and campaigns.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of all digital marketing & fundraising initiatives
  • Supporting the delivery of all external communications via eDM
  • Developing content for, and overseeing all social media channels to maximise reach, engagement & meet fundraising objectives
  • Writing copy for the DEBRA Australia website
  • Managing the DEBRA Australia CMS (Wordpress based)
  • Managing the DEBRA Australia CRM (eTapestry), including but not limited to: updating database & reporting
  • Fundraising platform management (liaising with account managers, back-end developing & editing web page)
  • Newsletter management (content production & delivery via eDM)
  • Liaison with families for marketing/fundraising initiatives
  • Creating basic graphics & video clips for marketing purposes
  • Supporting delivery of events from planning through execution in conjunction with the Fundraising and Marketing team
  • Developing new ideas to meet fundraising & marketing objectives
  • Other reasonable activities requested by the General Manager

Our ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a true team player, with a commitment to collaboration, whilst also being able to work independently.

Experience in the nonprofit sector is desirable, but not essential.
