Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre (DBNC) is an incorporated community organisation with charity status.

DBNC is a catalyst in the community for empowering local people to achieve their goals and advocate for change on issues that impact on our people and community.

We do this by supporting and providing services, activities and initiatives that include and enhance social inclusion and employment opportunities.

We work collaboratively with the whole of the community with a key focus to provide opportunities to make a difference to the lives of the most disadvantaged in our community.

Our vision is to provide a safe and welcoming environment in which to work collaboratively with people who are experiencing disadvantage to enable them to find pathways to fully participate in every part of life they choose.

About the role

This Counselling position has the responsibility to provide a range of services that may include:

• Counselling for individuals, couples and family counselling,
• Family relationship and skills training,
• Specialised family violence and
• Men and family relationship services

To assist families, individuals and couples to manage relationship issues arising from relationship changes, separation or divorce.

Qualifications / Experience

• A relevant tertiary qualification in counselling, psychology, social work or its equivalent, with significant experience and skills in working with vulnerable individuals and families.
• Eligibility for PACFA, ACA registration
• Federal Police Check (Essential)
• Current Blue Card (Essential)
• Current Drivers License
