Alcohol and Other Drug Case Manager - Goulburn

Directions Health Services is one of the Canberra, Murrumbidgee and Southern NSW regions’ most experienced community organisations delivering programs and services to people impacted by alcohol and other drugs.

The Pathways Goulburn Region program has been established for over five years now and has been expanded to provide further services throughout the regions to offer support to clients and their families to improve outcomes and reduce the harms associated with the use of alcohol and other drugs.

The Position

You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking holistic assessment of clients seeking to address drug and alcohol use
  • Case management, counselling, group work and support services to clients and to family/friends impacted by drug or alcohol use
  • Developing effective working relationships with local services, other health and community agencies, justice related agencies, and other Directions programs

About You:

You will have:

  • Qualification or currently studying towards a qualification, in Counselling/Social Work/Psychology/Nursing/other relevant field
  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drug Work or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working in the Alcohol and Other Drug sector - (min 2 years)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of substance use on clients and family members/friends
  • Good working knowledge of effective AOD treatment and support options and harm minimisation strategies

All appointments will be conditional upon a satisfactory National Policy Check, Working with Children check and Australian citizenship or suitable rights to work in Australia.
