What do we do?

Disability living (DLi) was established in 1984, providing long-term accommodation and support services for young adults with disabilities. Since then, we have expanded our services to cater for all ages, offering In-home support, accommodation services, developmental education, supported independent living and a variety of community inclusion services.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, Client Services, the Specialist Support Manager will form a key member of disAbility Living’s leadership team, significantly contributing to the strategic direction, leadership and management of the Specialist Support division. Critical to your success will be your ability to draw upon your leadership to support the existing team of Developmental Educators in growing strengths based person-centred services on offer at DLi. You will develop plans for service growth and revenue generation, forge mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholder groups and secure new opportunities and industry partnerships. Concurrently, within your team, you will engender a culture that is values-driven, collaborative, professional and person-centred and that embraces innovation and change.

About You

You are a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner (Proficient, Specialist or Advanced Practitioner) with Tertiary qualifications in disability, allied health, developmental education, or a related field coupled with relevant experience at a senior or management level are expected.

You bring leadership experience within the disability sector with extensive knowledge and understanding of NDIS governance and requirements. You demonstrate empowering and inclusive leadership and the ability to enable a positive and high-performance culture in your team.

To be successful in this role, the following criteria are essential;

  • Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner (Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner).
  • Tertiary qualification/s in disability, allied health, developmental education, or related field or equivalent experience at a senior or management level within the disability sector.
  • Qualification(s) in Management/Leadership, and/or demonstrated ability and experience.
  • Full membership with Developmental Educators Australia Inc (DEAI).
  • Child Safe Environment certificate, if working with children under 18 years of age.
  • Current and valid NDIS Worker Screening Check or DHS Disability Clearance and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current South Australian Driver’s licence.
  • Proof of the right to work in Australia.
  • NDIS Quality, Safety and You Certificate.

*This position is within the disability sector and is subject to the relevant Emergency Management Direction 2022.
