When disaster strikes, we work hard to help the most vulnerable in need. By working with or alongside local agencies and governments, Disaster Relief Australia quickly responds to large-scale natural disasters to provide relief to communities in need. In short, we help people on their worst days.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mobilisation Manager is a management position within Disaster Relief Australia, primarily responsible for the oversight of the Mobilisation Department.

The Mobilisation Manager is responsible for:

  • Planning, coordination and execution of all logistics processes relating to DRA member Mobilisations pertaining to Operations, Service Projects, Training and regular business.
  • Managing all Leadership travel requirements as required.
  • Reporting and controls for which this department is managed and maintained in conjunction with the General Manager – Field Operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all member deployment statistics (Operations and Service Projects) and reporting of same.
  • Provide general administrative support to senior management as required by organisational need.

Other areas of responsibility:

  • Maintain departmental compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Record keeping.
  • Manage other employees.
  • Schedule, route, maintain, and track transport vehicles.
  • Resolve disputes.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of operations.
  • Implement and enforce transportation scheduling and policy changes.
  • Coordinate and assist Equipment movements as required through the group utilising nominated 3rd Party suppliers.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, conferences and other events representing DRA as a member of the Leadership Team
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and maintenance of assigned budgets and spending limits across their areas of responsibility

The Mobilisation Manager works in conjunction with:

  • Field Operations to oversee and manage Mobilisation logistics for operations, and;
  • DRT Managers in training and support of DRT Coordinators and associates in their roles.

THE RIGHT PERSON WILL

  • Experience in workforce or volunteer management, team coordination, mobilisation or travel logistics, event coordination and administration.
  • Experience and proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Be adept at learning new technology platforms.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Australian working rights.
  • Current National Police Clearance Check or willingness to undergo such screening.

  • This position is initially offered as a fixed-term, full-time position with the possibility of extension.
