When disaster strikes, we work hard to help the most vulnerable in need. By working with or alongside local agencies and governments, Disaster Relief Australia quickly responds to large-scale natural disasters to provide relief to communities in need. In short, we help people on their worst days.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and based in Northern NSW the Relationship Manager (RM), will develop and maintain relationships with local government associations (LGA’s), businesses, community groups, key DRA stakeholders and DRA volunteers. While the primary focus of the RM is to build relationships and processes that facilitate DRA operations in NSW, the RM will be responsible for templating their model and managing volunteers placed into similar roles elsewhere. The RM will develop and maintain a comprehensive stakeholder management system and work across DRA to implement and maintain the system. The RM will also work with LGA’s to streamline processes and systems into council and shire emergency management plans and promote DRA’s capabilities, recruiting efforts and the impact we deliver to communities in need.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an effective cultivation and engagement strategy to guide, streamline and maximise all partnerships within the communities.
  • Research, identify and establish integrated partnerships with LGA’s, corporate organisations, community groups, key stakeholders and funding bodies.
  • Develop partnerships and processes to facilitate DRA resilience and recovery operations, including working to ensure there is shared understanding of DRA’s capabilities and impact
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure new partnerships are aligned with business priorities
  • Develop and maintain a relationships management system.
  • Ensure all stakeholder engagement efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
  • Prepare stakeholder engagement activity reports and metrics in written format and from a CRM to measure program success
  • Provide market research, forecasts, competitive analysis, campaign results, and consumer trends
  • Prepare prospect research briefs, deliver pitch proposals, and establish new business meetings.
  • Further knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars and share best practices, and local business development ideas and tactics with the leadership team.
  • Share best practice and drive innovation across DRA.
