Djirra supports Aboriginal women's journey to safety and wellbeing and provides legal and practical support to Aboriginal people experiencing family violence. Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) with a rich history, established over 15 years ago (as the Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service Victoria). It is also a place where culture is shared and celebrated.
Djirra’s vision is to provide high quality culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal women in Victoria who have experienced or are experiencing family violence.

Djirra will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in October 2022. The Event Manager will report directly to the Director, Policy and Engagement and will take the lead role in organising, overseeing and coordinating this important milestone event.
Djirra is committed to Child Safety and as part of Djirra's screening requirements all staff must have (or are able to obtain) a Working With Children's Check and a National Police Check. In addition, if you lived in a country other than Australia for 12 months or more in the last ten years then the results of an international police check prior to commencement will be required. You must also demonstrate an understanding of children's safety.
